Maximize on farm profits with feedlotting

Feedlotting is an intensive domestic farming practise whereby cattle, sheep or pigs are fattened for slaughter. This farming practise is controlled and conducted in a regulated environment such as large pens or paddocks. Bought-in or home-grown farm feeds.  The most common form is Commercial Feedlots, where the farmer/feedlotter will buy weaners and long weaners for their feedlots.

The weaners are transferred into the feedlot where they are fed a typical introduction mix which consists of roughage, grain and concentrates. This initial stage ensures the weaner is given time to adapt to the new feeding regime, which takes about 3 weeks. After the first phase the roughage is reduced and the grain is slowly increased in order to accelerate the average daily gain of the weaner. Finally, the weaners are put onto a finisher ration just before slaughter in order to round them off.

Cattle farmers who normally sell their weaners are encouraged to explore the option of adding value to their weaners by feedlotting their own calves, in order to take advantage of the full supply chain. WES Voere Osma HPK85 gives farmers the perfect opportunity to mix a full feedlot ration on their farms to fatten their cattle and take them directly to slaughter thus increasing farm profits.

WES Voere Osma HPK85 is a specially formulated protein concentrate which is to be used in a complete feed or finisher feed ration. The composition of the product makes it easy for the farmer to mix a specific ration required. WES Voere Osma HPK85 is scientifically balanced to ensure the necessary protein, vitamins and minerals are suitable for a feedlot ration thus making it convenient for the farmer to only have to source roughage and grain/starch for his mix.

When Osma HPK85 is mixed with quality raw materials and fed in the right manner, farmers can expect to achieve average daily gains of between 1.8kg and 2kgs per animal.
